American cheesecake artist DE BERARDINIS, born in 1948, is known to her legions of fans simply as Olivia. Famous for her paintings and prints of nude women, Olivia honors the traditions of cheesecake and pin-up art, but adds modern touches like fetishism, horror, anthropomorphism and even the occasional bit of surrealism, plus an aggressive sexuality in her subjects. An only child, she drew sketches of her mother - whom she described as "a disgruntled glamour-puss" - to amuse herself. After a brief attempt at paying the bills with odd jobs and painting minimalist art, Olivia turned to commercial art in 1974. Since she'd grown up drawing women, she started painting women for periodicals and paperback publishers before turning to men's magazines. Olivia has displayed her work throughout the United States and Japan and is a regular contributor to Playboy magazine, and she has fans across the globe. Raven-haired pin-up and erotica legend PAGE (1923-2008) was a study in contrasts - sweet and often innocent-looking, yet best known for posing for nude and semi-nude photographs and magazines, often with bondage or sadomasochistic themes.
